SAFC bids farewell to Nara Wilson

15 July 2022

The SAFC bids a fond farewell to Nara Wilson, who finishes as the SAFC’s First Nations Industry Development Executive next week after four years with the agency.

In her previous role as SAFC Associate Executive, Nara was instrumental in establishing the SAFC’s Centralised partnership with Screen Territory and other founding partners and oversaw project and industry development outcomes including the Deadly Family Portraits series for ABC iView.

As SAFC First Nations Industry Development Executive, Nara played a key role in developing and delivering the SAFC’s First Nations Screen Strategy 2020-2025 along with other industry development programs, and has been a driving force behind the agency’s ongoing Reconciliation Action Plan. She has also played an important role in the management of the SAFC’s First Nations Screen Advisory Committee.

SAFC CEO Kate Croser said Nara would be sorely missed.

“Over her four years with the SAFC Nara has been an instrumental and well-loved part of the Production and Development team, and has achieved many positive outcomes for SA’s First Nations screen sector, and the wider sector in general. On behalf of everyone at the SAFC I’d like to thank Nara for her dedication, passion and hard work, and we wish her the best for the next stage of her career,” she said.

Nara’s last day will be Friday 22 July. The SAFC will begin a recruitment process for the First Nations Development Executive role shortly; stay tuned to this newsletter and our social media channels for updates.
